1oz. Chocolate, unsweetened ½ C Butter 1 1/3 C Sugar 2 Eggs 2 C Flour 2 ½ t Baking powder ½ t Salt ¾ C Milk 1 ½ t Vanilla 1 – 2 t Zest of orange or orange peel if desired
1. Butter and line square pans with wax paper and butter and flour wax paper. 2. Melt chocolate and allow to cool. 3. In large bowl cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. 4. Combine flour and baking powder and salt. 5. In a measuring cup, combine milk and vanilla. 6. Combine dry and milk with butter sugar mixture alternately. Spoon zest of orange into the mixture. 7. Put T in alternating spots in pans so they don’t touch. 8. After putting ½ of mixture in pans add chocolate to the rest of batter. 9. Put batter in the empty spots in pans. Take a knife and swirl to marbleize. Tap on counter to settle. 10. Bake in preheated oven (350F) for 40 to 45 minutes.
