Quick Date Bread


2 C All purpose flour
1/3 C White or C Brown Sugar
2 t Double acting baking powder
1 t Salt
1 Egg
2T Butter
1 C Milk
C Broken nut meats or part dates and part nut meats


1. Sift into bowl; flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
2. Melt and cool slightly; butter.
3. Beat egg until light. Add milk, melted butter.
4. Beat liquid ingredients into the sifted ones until well mixed.
5. Fold in broken nuts or part dates and nuts.
6. Place the dough in a greased bread pan and bake for about 40 minutes.
