(1) 9" unbaked pie shell
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. plain flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
6 cups sliced apples

Topping:
1 cup oats, uncooked
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake about 45-55 minutes, depending on how hot your oven gets.

Topping: Combine oats, brown sugar, nuts, cinnamon, and butter. Sprinkle over pie filling. Bake in preheated oven at same temp. about 40 minutes, or until topping is brown and apples are tender. Top with a scoop of ice cream!
