"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Homemade Corn Tortillas, by Nancy Tingey, is from A Taste of Home,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 1/2 cup corn meal 1 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1 T. oil 1 egg (can use dehydrated eggs) 2-2 1/2 cups of water
Mix dry ingredients together then add water until mixture is slightly runnier than pancake batter. Cook in fry pan pan by pouring 1/2 cup batter into pan and spreading it around until thin. Cook on both sides until done.
This goes with a family favorite called Buster's Enchiladas.
