2 3/4 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup melted shortening
1 (6 oz) package of chocolate morsels
2 1/4 cups of light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts(optional)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening and add brown sugar in a large bowl. Allow to cool slightly. Mix and sift flour baking soda salt and set aside. Do this while the shortening and brown sugar are cooling. One at a Time add egg mixing after each. Add dry ingredients slowly while mixing by hand. Batter will be stiff. Add nuts, vanilla and chocolate chip mixing well after each. Bake in a 13 x 9 greased pan at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool then wrap in foil as bars tend to dry out quickly
