1 3/4 cup sifter flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp vanilla
marshmallows cut in half

Sift flour with salt, soda, cocoa. Cream shortening sugar and egg. Add flour mixture and milk alternately, add nuts and vanilla. Drop by tsp about 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for nine minutes. Top each cookie with a half marshmallow cut side down. Return to oven and bake one minute longer. Cool and frost with any chocolate icing.
