This recipe for Four Layer Dessert, by Jane Baker, is from The Baker Family Cookbook,

Bottom Layer: 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup butter 1/2 cup chopped pecans Second layer: 6 ounces cream cheese 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 (10 ounce or larger) carton Cool Whip Third layer: 1 large box chocolate instant pudding 1 small box vanilla instant pudding 2 1/2 cups milk
Blend the bottom layer as you would a pastry dough.Press into bottom of a 9x13 pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool. Second layer: Cream ingredients and place in cooled bottom layer. Third layer: Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix until well blended and thickened. Place over second layer. Fourth layer: Spread the other half of carton of Cool Whip on top of third layer, sprinkle with shaved chocolate bar, and refrigerate.
