1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 t. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour (sifted)
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, salt, vanilla, sugar and eggs together. Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda and combine with the other ingredients. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and mix well. Measure out level tablespoons of dough on greased cookie sheets. Flatten cookies with a spatula and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in the oven 10-12 minutes at 375.
