1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine, shortening, and sugars. Add egg, vanilla, and almond. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place on lightly greased sheets. Dip bottom of glass in granulated sugar and press balls flat, redipping glass for each cookie. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

I also use this recipe and roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, cut out shapes, and use a spatula to transfer to cookie sheets. I frost with the Pat Miller White Icing.
