4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/8 inch slices
1/3 c. chopped onion
3 tbsp. butter
4 1/2 tsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Layer potatoes in greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. In a medium saucepan, saute onion in 3 tbsp. butter until tender. Remove from heat; blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Slowly stir in milk. Return to medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens slightly and comes to a boil. Pour mixture over potatoes. Bake, covered, 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 1 hour longer, or until potatoes are tender.
