1 c. sifted cake flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. egg whites
1 /2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Sift flour with 3/4 c. sugar 2 times. Beat egg whites, cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla until stiff enough to form soft peaks, but still moist and glossy. Add remaining 3/4 c. sugar 2 T. at a time. Continue until stiff peaks form. Add flour mixture 1/4 at a time, folding in by hand. Pour into ungreased tube pan. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes or until cracks are not wet looking. Hang upside down on bottle until cool--1 1/2 hours.
