1 c raisins
1-1/2 c water
1 c sugar
1/2 c shortening (or applesauce)
1 egg
2 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
reserved raisin water
cooked raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Boil together for 5 minutes the raisins and water. Drain, saving 3/4 c liquid. Cool. Beat together remaining ingredients with raisin water and cooked raisins. Spread in greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 min at 350. When cool, glaze with powdered sugar mixed with a tiny bit of water.
