1 cup shortening
cup butter
1 cups sugar
1 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 t vanilla
4 cups flour
2 t soda
2 t salt
2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter, and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, soda, and salt and add to creamed mixture. For individual cookies mix chocolate chips and pecans into batter. Drop onto cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350. For bar cookies, spread batter into 2 large, flat pans with raised sides. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top. Bake for 15 minutes at 350. Also, can shape dough into rolls and freeze. Slice and cook for later use.
