1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2-3 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, almond, lemon)
4 1/2 c. sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream everything except flour; add flour; roll in ball; chill 2 hours. Roll out for cut-out cookies. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes (longer, if dough is a bit thick). Do not brown. These decorate very nicely with colored confectioners sugar, mixed with water till thin. We usually paint it on according to the cut-out.
