"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste
This recipe for Mom's Peanut Butter Fudge, by Mom-Mop, is from Smith Family Favorites,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
2 c. sugar 1 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 Tbs. white corn syrup 1/4 c. peanut butter
Combine sugar, milk and corn syrup in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved. Cook gently, stirring occasionally until a little dropped in cold water forms a soft ball. Remove from heat, add peanut butter and vanilla. Let cool, then beat and turn out in 8x8 pan.
