1 box yellow cake mix
2 pkg frozen coconut
1 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar
12 oz coolwhip

Make cake into 3 layers using the directions on the box.

Mix together 2 cups sugar, 1 cup sour cream, 1 pkg frozen coconut (thawed). Reserve 1 cup of mixture for frosting.

Spread filling between layers.

Mix together the cup of reserved filling and 12 oz of coolwhip.

Frost outside of cake with frosting and sprinkle with 1 pkg of thawed coconut.

Refrigerate overnight.
