Ingredients: 3/4 cups unsalted butter 4 oz unsweetened chocolate (I use Guittard) 4 large eggs 2 c sugar 1 1/4 c all purpose flour 1 c chopped pecans 12 oz chocolate chunks (semi sweet) 114 oz soft caramels 1/4 c heavy cream

Directions:Melt butter and chocolate together (microwave okay) and stir until smooth. Beat in (by hand) eggs, flour, sugar and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Spread half the batter into a 13x9, 2" high baking pan. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the chocolate chunks. Meanwhile in saucepan, melt together caramels and heavy cream over medium low heat and hand beat until smooth - 5 mins. approx. Evenly pour the caramel over the chocolate mixture. Spread the remaining better. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks on top.
Bake at 350º for 35 minutes. Let cool completely and cut into squares. |
