3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. sliced maraschino cherries
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Stir in beaten egg. Sift dry ingredients together and add cherries, coconut, and nuts. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Stir in milk and vanilla. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake preheated 350 for 10 minutes.
