1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
3 Tbsp. cocoa
2 c. milk
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 stick butter

4 egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tartar
3 Tbsp. sugar

Mix sugar, flour and cocoa. Add milk, then butter. Beat egg yolks and add to mixture. Cook until thick. Add vanilla, pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue. Bake until top is brown.

Beat egg whites until stiff add cream of tartar and gradually add sugar.
