Directions:
In a bread mixing bowl, sift a sifter full of self-rising flour. With hand make a large hole in middle of flour. Take approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cup of shortening in hand, place in hole and start
mixing flour to shortening, continue mixing until flour and shortening are mixed into small pea-like pieces. Sprinkle cold water (start with two tablespoons) over mixture and press together to form a ball. Add more water if needed. Flour hands and form ball of dough. Sift flour over clean table or rolling mat; place ball of dough on table and pat out to form a round circle, roll out to form pie shell. Sift flour over dough if needed. Make shell diameter a couple of inches bigger than pie pan. Carefully pick pie crust up and place over pie pan. Form to shape of pan. Take a fork with flour on it and press the pie shell around the ridge of pan. With fork, cut off excess dough around pie pan.
