1-1/2 c. (3 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 (8-oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted all purpose white flour
1/4 tsp. salt
confectioners' sugar (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a 10" tube pan or 12 cup bundt pan. In bowl, beat butter and cream cheese together until well blended. Add sugar to mixture & cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Sift flour and salt together; blend into creamed mixture. Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted 1" from edge comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, turn out onto wire rack and cool completely. Dust with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
