4 C. flour
1 C. sugar
3 eggs
2 t. ginger
1 t. cardamon
1/2 t. cloves
2 C. butter
2 t. vanilla
2 t. cinnamon
Rind of one lemon
Can of almond paste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except the almond paste using only two of the eggs. Roll out half of the dough on floured wax paper. Put in cake pan. Spread almond paste over dough. Roll out other half of the dough and place on top of almond paste. Whip one egg and brush the top. Bake at 350 degrees until cookie portion tests done.

You can test it with a knife but remember that the almond paste portion will be sticky.
