3/4 c shortening 1 c brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 c molasses 1/4 tsp salt 2 1/4 c flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp cloves 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp ginger
Cream shortening and blend in sugar. Add egg and molasses and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill for 1 hour and form into balls about the size of walnuts. Dip tops in sugar. Bake 350º for 8-10 minutes
