3 c. chopped dates
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
Crust:
3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Cook chopped dates, sugar, and water until thick (about 10 minutes). Cool. To make the crust, mix together butter, brown sugar, flour, soda, salt, and oatmeal. Pat 1/2 of this mixture into a greased 9"X13" pan. Spread cooled filling on top of this and add remaining mixture. Bake 400 for 25 to 30 minutes until lightly browned. Top with Cool Whip.
