Ingredients:  
Cream 2/3 cup butter or margerine with 1& 1/2 cups sugar. Beat in 3 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla. Sift together 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 cup cocoa, 2&1/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda. Add dry ingredients and 1 cup water alternately. Stir in 2/3 cup rinsed, drained and chopped sauerkraut.

Frosting, 1 & 1/4 cups creamed butter or margerine, 2 cups confectioners sugar

Turn into greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Patty made this cake because it was the only ingredients we had in the house at that time, to make cake with, I think she was about 10 years old at the time
