"When I'm at a Chinese restaurant having a hard time with chopsticks, I always hope that there's a Chinese kid at an American restaurant somewhere who's struggling mightily with a fork."--Rick Budinich
This recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies, by Jayne Zens, is from The 2009 Zens Family Favorites,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
9 cups flour or less 4 tsp soda 4 tsp salt 4 cups butter or crisco 3 cups sugar 3 cups brown sugar 4 tsp vanilla 8 eggs 2 pkgs chips 1 cup nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375º. In small bowl mix flour, soda, salt. set aside. In a large bowl mix butter, sugar, b.sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy, Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop on cookie sheet and bake 9-11 min.
When I make these I don't mix the dry ingredients together. I just add them to the creamy mixture. That way you don't get to much flour in them. I let my dough rest after I add 1/2 the flour.
