"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Jeanne's Mexican Salad, by Gerri McAdoo, is from Mama GG's Favorite Family Recipes,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Pkg Fritos Velveeta Cheese (small or large depending on size of salad) 1 can Rotel 1 onion chopped fine 1 avacodo - ripe - (mash & add a little lemon to keep fresh) 1 head of lettuce 1 tomato, chopped fine (add just before serving)
Make cheese sauce using Velveeta cheese and Rotel (drain Rotel slightly). Melt cheese in microwave and add Rotel. Refrigerate 8 hours.
Add to salad just before serving with fritos and tomato.
My good friend, Jeanne Goodrich, gave me this recipe.
