2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine
5 tablespoons cocoa
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
pinch of salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups self rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, margarine, and cocoa; beat well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add soda and salt to buttermilk. Add milk to sugar mixture alternately with flour; add vanilla. Stir in boiling water, mixture will be thin. Bake in 2 - 9-inch layer pans at 350 for 30 minutes, or until firm.
