Mix in order:
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 to 2 tsp cinnamon

Alternate stirring in:
2 cups flour
3 or 4 grated or finely chopped apples
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Cream Cheese Frosting:
3 tbsp butter
6 oz soft cream cheese
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

The apples are the only liquid used. Bake in prepared 9x13" pan at 350 for 45 minutes. Cool.
Cream together ingredients for frosting and frost cake.
