1 cup Bockę, or other dark beer
1 pkg active dry yeast
3 to 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg, well beaten
3 tbsp soft butter or margarine
1/2 cup wheat germ

Directions:
Directions:
Warm beer to 110║-115║ and pour into large bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top, let stand 5 minutes. Add half of the flour along with he sugar, salt, and egg. Beat until smooth. Mix in butter and remaining flour and wheat germ. Add flour slowly, spreading dough through fingers to blend ingredients until wheat germ is all mixed in and enough flour is used so dough cleans bowl. Turn onto lightly floured board and knead for 5 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk or dented well when poked with a finger. Punch down. Shape into loaf and place in a greased 9x5x3" pan. Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake in 375║ oven for 35-40 minutes until tests done. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
