"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Magic Bars, by Erin Gillen, is from The Welsh Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1-1/2 cup graham crumbs 1/2 cup butter 1 cup of chocolate chips 1 cup of pecan chunks 1 cup of coconut 1 can of Eagle Brand condensed milk
Melt butter and add it to the graham crumbs to make a crust that extends up the sides of your pan. Pat it down so that it is solid. Pour the can of condensed milk into the pan, evenly distributed. Put the chocolate chips and the pecans on and cover with coconut. Bake in the oven on 350º F for 25 - 30 minutes or until the coconut has browned.
The amounts are a rough estimate and depending on your oven you may want to cook it at a lower temp for longer. These are good.
