2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons meal
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk plus 1 tablespoon
1 lb. sausage

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening with dry ingredients. Add milk and mix well. Turn on to floured surface and knead about one minute. Divide dough into two parts. Roll about 1/4 inch thick into a rectangle. Spread each half with 1/2 lb. sausage which has been softened to room temperature. Starting with wide side, roll into jelly roll and seal edges. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Slice 1/4 inch thick and bake in 400 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
