1/3 c water 1/3 c white syrup 2 c sugar 3 egg whites 2/3 c confectioners sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1/3 tsp cream of tarter
In sauce pan, mix 1/3 c water, syrup and 2 c sugar. Boil until soft ball stage. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add hot mixture until smooth, slowly add conf. sugar, vanilla and cream of tartar. Pour over cake
