2 cups sugar
4 T flour
3 egg yolks
1 can milk
1 can water
1 tsp vanilla
2 T margarine

Ripe Bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and flour. Add enough milk to dissolve sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time and mix well. Add rest of milk and water. Cook in microwave for 10-12 minutes or until thick. Add vanilla and butter and mix well.

Alternate layer of vanilla wafers, layer of bananas, to top of dish. Pour filling over top.

Beat egg whites till stiff, adding 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 350 for as long as it takes to brown top.

This recipe was handed down by my mother. Of course she used a double boiler... I use the microwave.
