1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbs water
3 tbs milk
1 tbs vanilla

Directions:

let butter, brown sugar and water melt, boil for 2 minutes
stir in 3 tbs milk and vanilla

That's the end of the directions. Mema always put it on jam cake and I remember sneaking into the back room to break off the icing like candy...Mema would always tell how she would have to re-ice the cake just before Christmas because Aunt Gail would break off all the icing and eat it.
