"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 16 oz pkg. of spaghetti (I use whole wheat)
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 # ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 T. chopped garlic
1 32 oz. jar of spaghetti sauce--your favorite
1 4 oz. can mushrooms
2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
cook and drain spaghetti and lay into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Beat eggs and milk and pour over noodles. Cook beef 3/4 of the way and drain off fat. Add garlic, onion and green pepper and simmer a few minutes more. Add sauce to the skillet, mix well and pour over noodles. Top with mushrooms. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes; remove from oven and add cheese; bake 10 more minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
My favorite way to make this is to double my recipe when making regular spaghetti. I use the pre-made sauce,as is. I lay the extra noodles in a pan, coat with the milk and egg, dump on my extra sauce and add cheese at the right time....just as good!
