1 gallon catsup
6-8 lemons sliced
1 pint vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
cayenne pepper (to taste)
salt and pepper (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and slice lemons (remove seeds); put in a large saucepan with vinegar. Bring to a boil and cook until lemons are tender. Add catsup, sugar and cayenne. Make it as hot as you would like.
Add salt and pepper if you want. Simmer for about 30 minutes.

Remove the lemons so the peels won't make the sauce bitter, but don't throw away. There is nothing better than a cold biscuit with a slice of lemon and a spoonful of sauce!
