1/4 C. soft crisco
1 small egg
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. molasses
1/2 C. water
2 C.sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp.salt
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix first 4 ingredients thoroughly. Stir in 1/2 C. water. Sift and stir flour,soda,salt,ginger,nutmeg,cloves and cinnamon together add to mixture .Blend well. Drop round tsp. about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake till set ( when touched lightly, almost no imprint will show. While warm frost with icing.
Bake at 400 for 8 minutes.
Blend 1 C. sifted 10X sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. rum flavoring, 1 tbl. cream. Sprinkle red & green
