1c butter, softened
1/3c shortening
3c sugar
5 eggs
pinch of salt
1tsp. baking powder
3c all-purpose flour
1c milk
1tsp. vanilla extract
1tsp. lemon extract
1/4 tsp. ground mace

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients: add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beating after each addition. Add flavorings and mace. Spoon batter into a greased and waxed paper-lined 10" tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat; bake 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool. Remove from pan.
