thinly sliced beef cut in 1/2
1 chopped onion
bacon cut in thin strips
hard roll cut in thin strips
pickles cut in thin strips
2 T flour
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/8 t pepper, paprika, thyme & marjoram
shortening
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Salt & pepper meat on one side. Brown chopped onions. Spread onion on meat and place 1 piece of bacon, roll and pickle on each slice of meat. Roll meat up and tie w/ string or use toothpicks. Fry meat until brown in a little shortening. Take out of pan. Into pan put 2 T of flour add more shortening if needed. Brown flour. Meanwhile cook 2 bouillon cubes in 2 c water. After bouillon has cooled add to flour; whisk. Add meat and spices. Simmer 1 hour, turning occasionally. The longer the dish simmers, the better!!
