1 c. sugar 11/2 T. cocoa 3 egg yolks (slightly beaten) 4 T. flour 1 T. margarine 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tall can pet milk 1/3 c. water
Blend dry ingredients in heavy saucepan, add milk & water, add beaten egg yolks. Cook over low to med heat stirring often to avoid sticking until thicken. Remove from heat and add margarine and vanilla flavoring. Stir well and pour into baked 9 in. pie shell. Recipe can be doubled for baking 2 pies. Top with meringue.
Meringue 3 egg whites pinch of salt 6 T sugar 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Beat egg whites stiff. Add salt, sugar and vanilla. Beat until blended and spread on top of pie. Cook in 350 degree oven until brown.
