1 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
2 1/2 c. chopped fresh or canned tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
4 c. chopped cabbage
1 c. soft bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Cook beef in shortening until brown. Add onion and celery; cook 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper; bring to boiling. In buttered 2 quart baking dish, alternate layers of cabbage and beef. Top with bread crumbs. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until done.
