5 cups (about 2 pounds) Granny Smith apples
1/2 cup orange juice
1/3 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 to 3 tsp grated orange peel
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Pare, core and slice apples. In 3 quart microwave-safe bowl, combine apples with orange juice and orange peel. Cover with plastic wrap; vent and microcook at high (100 percent) 12-14 minutes or until apples are tender. Stir in sugar and cinnamon. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Makes about 3 cups.

For smoother applesauce, puree cooked mixture in blender or food processor
