Bananas, egg, salt, melted shortening, baking soda, sugar, flour, baking powder,walnuts

Directions:

Mix everything in order in one bowl as you go.

Mix 3 mashed ripe bananas, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 cup melted shortening (Wesson oil), 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking powder: add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts at end. Put in lightly greased, full sized loaf pan. Bake in 350 oven until toothpick inserted in middle of cake comes out clean.

This is a no fail Banana Bread, rich enough for a dessert with some whipped cream, if you like. Great way to use up overly ripe bananas. Plus, it's a very forgiving recipe; add 4 small bananas if that is what you have, or more or less nuts.
