"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Sandwich Loaf, by Fleta Reed, is from Our Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 pkg hot roll mix 2 lbs lunch meat (any kind will do) 1 c Hot water 1 egg
Mix hot roll mix together per box instructions. Let mixture set for 5 minutes. Roll out to about 12 X 9 or larger. Put lunchmeats and cheese in the middle. Sprinkle with Hidden Valley Dressing mix. Close seams with damp fingers and flip upside down on a cookie sheet. (Make sure ends are closed.) Poke holes, using a fork, on the top of the bread loaf. Bake at 350º until brown. Approx 30 minutes.
Any lunch meat or cheese can be used.
Let the loaf cool a bit and then slice and served. Great alternative to sandwiches.
