"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add milk and 1 c. of the flour. Beat well. Beat egg whites
until dry and add to the mixture along with the vanilla. Beat all. Add the rest of the flour (1/2 c.) with baking powder sifted into it. Bake in a greased square pan in a moderate oven 40 minutes. (350)
When cold, cut into square pieces.
To make Mocha Filling, cream butter and add sugar gradually; alternate last cup of sugar with cream and vanilla. Beat well. Mixture will be quite like ice cream and must be spreadable on cakes with a knife. Care must be taken that every part of cake is covered with filling before rolling in chopped peanuts or almonds.
