Butter Baked Rice Recipe

2 tsp salt
1cup long grain rice
1/3 cup butter
Dash of garlic powder
1 (13 3/4oz) can of chicken broth
finely snipped parsley
1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Combine salt & 2 cups water, bring to boiling & pour over rice. Let stand 30 minutes. Rinse rice with cold water; drain well. Melt butter in skillet add rice and cook over medium heat. Stirring frequently until butter is almost absorbed. Turn into casserole, sprinkle with garlic salt. Pour broth over. Bake covered at 350 for 45 min. Add parsley, fluff with fork, sprinkle with almonds. Bake uncovered 10 minutes longer

I got this recipe from mom. It makes a really good side dish. I don' t usually like rice that much but this is really good. Probably because of the butter! I never added the parsley.
