2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening or butter
1 1/4 c. sweet milk
6 egg whites
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar well. Add salt. Add milk and flour alternately. Reserve 1 c. of flour to mix with baking powder, to be added to cake last. Add vanilla. Fold in well beaten egg whites. This will make 3 layers. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
