Ingredients:  
1/2 c. butter
1 can cherries
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in baking dish. Drain juice from cherries and reserve. Mix flour, 1/2 c. sugar, baking powder and milk together until smooth batter is formed. Pour over melted butter. Add 1 cup sugar and cherry juice in saucepan. Bring to a boil and pour over batter. DO NOT STIR. Spoon cherries over batter. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 or until brown. Serve hot with ice cream or heavy cream. YUM!
