1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 T. granulated sugar
2 T. softened butter
2 T. shortening
1/2 c. half-&-half
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda.
2. Lightly beat the egg in another bowl and add the sugar, butter, and shortening. Mix well until smooth.
3. Add the half-&-half, milk, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well.
4. Add the dry flour mixture to the wet mixture and mix until smooth
5. Prepare waffles as usual.
